My mom told me this morning that they are bringing 40 familes who lost their homes due to hurricane Katrina to the area. I think they are going to be staying at Camp Bethel for now. But my cousin works at AOL in Norton and she told me that they are having a big dinner for them when they arrive and that they are also taking up donations and such. If any of you have clothes / toys/ food or anything else you can spare, drop it off at the Hotel Norton.

Heard a woman on the news, a Katrina victim, say she appreciated the small town help, but she wanted to get out as soon as possible because she couldn't stand the small town way of life.

I guess there's not enough crime, (gangs etc.) and fearing for your life on a consistent basis for her. And being able to drive to work that is only 10-15 miles away and taking only 20 minutes instead of and hour and a half. Not trying to be mean or not feel bad for their situation but I will defend small town life since there is nothing to compare to it.

Wow. Small town life isn't for everyone. There are aspects of big cities that people grow accustomed to that aren't in a small town...and it's hard to adjust especially if you have lived in the city all of your life.
And fearing for your life on a consistent basis? If that was the case, I doubt cities would be very populated. Sure there are rough parts and some are high crime areas, but all cities are not like that and all parts of the city aren't either.
Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play. It is bound up with hatred, jealousy, boastfulness, disregard of all rules and sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence. In other words, it is war minus the shooting.
